Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi has addressed the notable absence of new signings Nkanyiso Shinga and Ethan Chislett, who joined the club in the off-season.
Six games into the new 2025/26 season, the duo has yet to feature in an official match for Amakhosi. They are among more than 10 players signed in the current transfer window as the Soweto giants aim to build a solid team.
Chislett and Shinga joined a list of highly-rated new recruits, which includes prominent names such as Khanyisa Mayo, Siphesihle Ndlovu, Lebohang Maboe, Flavio Silva, Paseka Mako, Asanele Velebayi, Thabiso Monyane, Luke Baartman, and Etiosa Ighodaro.
The new faces, such as Monyane, Mako and Silva, have proved useful for Chiefs after having a great start to the 2025/26 Betway Premiership season. The Glamour Boys went five matches without tasting a defeat after winning four games and drawing one.
However, Chiefs’ unbeaten run came to an end after suffering a 3-1 loss against Sekhukhune United on Tuesday night at FNB Stadium. Babina Noko collected maximum points to move to the summit of the league table with 16 points, thanks to a Thabang Monare strike and a brace from Bradley Grobler, while Silva scored the consolation goal for Chiefs.

NASREDDINE NABI GIVES ASSURANCE TO SHINGA AND CHISLETT
Despite having their paperwork issues sorted out weeks ago, attacking midfielder Chislett and left-back Shinga were once again left out of the Chiefs matchday squad for the match against Sekhukhune.
Chislett joined Chiefs from English side Port Vale FC, whereas Shinga arrived from Portuguese top-division side FC Alverca.
Speaking after the disappointing results against Sekhukhune, Nabi has revealed that the two players are available for selection and assured that their turn to play will come.
โItโs true that they [Chislett and Shinga] are part of the squad, we have a lot of players, and when their turn to play comes, they will play,โ Nabi told the media at FNB Stadium.
It is believed that Chislett is still struggling to adapt to the physicality of the game in South Africa. Meanwhile, Shinga was working to overcome fitness issues, which he has now seemingly resolved.
