Chippa United head coach Luc Eymael has explained the change in his assistant coach, with Selaoetse ‘Sly’ Mosala replacing Morgan Mammila.
Mosala, who has previously worked with Eymael at Polokwane City FC and the now-defunct Free State Stars, has reunited with the Belgian at Chippa.
The changes come after the club parted ways with coach Sinethemba Badela and his technical team, including Musa Nyatama.
Mammila served as Eymael’s assistant coach during Chippa’s 3-0 defeat to Orlando Pirates before the FIFA international break. He has since been moved to work with the club’s DStv Diski Challenge [DDC] side.
WHY MORGAN MAMMILA WAS REMOVED AS ASSISTANT COACH AT CHIPPA UNITED

Eymael has since explained that the decision to move Mammila was taken by the club boss, Chippa Mpengesi.
“You know, Sly worked with me at Polokwane City and at Free State Stars. So it’s not a big surprise,” Eymael told journalists. “Morgan [Mammila] is my friend, but it was like that. It was a decision of the big boss.”
LUC EYMAEL HOPES THE NEW TECHNICAL TEAM WILL BRING NEW IDEAS AT THE CLUB
“Yeah, we brought a new goalkeeper coach who was working with me in Libya, Tunisia and in DR Congo. You know that we qualified [FC Saint-Eloi] Lupopo for the CAF Champions League. We had the most clean sheets in the league and beat TP Mazembe twice.
“So it’s also very important to give Stanley [Nwabali] some confidence because when the spine is doing very well, the rest we can build around that. The most important thing is to stabilise the spine, and then after that we can adjust all other things,” he said.
“But I think everybody is bringing a bit of confidence to the player and their view and technical abilities to the players.”
