Betway Premiership side Orbit College FC has confirmed that they will, for the first time since their promotion, play their home match at Olympia Park Stadium in Rustenburg starting this weekend.

People in the North West have not watched their club play at home since their promotion to the SA elite league at the end of last season. They earned their spot in the Premiership after winning the PSL Promotional/Relegation Playoffs against Casric Stars and Cape town City FC.

Orbit played their opening home matches at the Dobsonville Stadium in Soweto due to renovations at Olympia Park.

As FARPost had earlier reported, the venue was still facing issues with floodlights. But following months of renovations, the club has since confirmed that they will play their first official home match on Saturday, 20 September. The club will face Marumo Gallants in a fixture scheduled for 20:00.

ORBIT COLLEGE FC TO FINALLY RETURN TO OLYMPIA PARK STADIUM

Speaking after the 2-1 loss to Chippa United on Tuesday at the Buffalo City Municipality Stadium in East London, Orbit College head coach Pogiso Makhoye confirmed that his troops are set to return to their original home.

โ€œWe will win on Saturday, that I can promise,โ€ said Makhoye, reflecting on their fifth defeat of the season against Chippa.

POGISO MAKHOYE DELIGHTED WITH A RETURN TO THEIR FAMILIAR VENUE

โ€œWe have been playing away for six games; remember, Dobsonville is not our ground, it’s in Gauteng. So this travelling also killed us. But on Saturday, we will finally be at home, where we are used to the pitch, because remember, the Dobsonville and Olympia pitches are not the same.

โ€œWe are training on the same pitch in Olympia, where we know the bounce of the ball. So finally we will be at home.”

Orbit remains at the bottom of the Betway Premiership after collecting three points from their opening six matches. Their only win of the season came through a narrow 1-0 victory over Siwelele FC at Dobsonville Stadium.
