Fadlu Davids is on the verge of a surprise exit from Tanzania giants Simba SC, with his former club, Raja Club Athletic, keen on a reunion.
Davids’ final match as the head coach of Wekundu Wa Msimbazi may have been Saturday’s 1-0 victory over Gaborone United.
The former Orlando Pirates assistant coach did not return to Tanzania with the team after the CAF Champions League first leg preliminary round match.
Instead, Davids, who is a former Orlando Pirates co-coach, flew to South Africa and is expected to finalise his next move while in the country.
He is expected to leave the club along with his some of his backroom staff.
Davids is currently in his second season with Simba SC. In his first season, following a stint as an assistant at Raja, he led the team to a second-place finish in the league and a place in the CAF Confederation Cup final.
FADLU DAVIDS A FRONTRUNNER FOR RAJA JOB

Following the departure of head coach Lassaad Chabbi, Raja Casablanca is actively seeking a replacement. The 64-year-old recently completed his second tenure with the club, prompting the search for a new coach.
The club had three primary targets for the coaching role. Nasreddine Nabi, who is leaving Kaizer Chiefs, Davids and former Orlando Pirates coach Jose Riveiro emerged as top targets.
Nabi, however, has reportedly declined the offer. He is said to be taking a break from football to be with his wife as she recovers from a recent accident.
This development makes Davids the most likely candidate to be finalised for the position. He is a familiar face at Raja, having previously served as an assistant coach when the team achieved an undefeated domestic double under Josef Zinnbauer.
