The draw for the Carling Black Label Knockout Cup Round of 16 has produced an exciting set of matchups that are sure to thrill football fanatics throughout South Africa.
The PSL conducted the 2025/26 Carling Knockout Last 16 draw on Monday, 22 September. This event took place at the FNB Stadium in Soweto and was broadcast live on SuperSport TV Channel 202 and SABC Sport.
According to the competition’s rules and regulations, the draw for the Round of 16 was seeded. The clubs that secured the top eight spots in the Betway Premiership last season were seeded, whereas the other teams were unseeded.

a) The draw was conducted using three bowls, labelled Pot A, Pot B, and Pot C.
b) Pot A contained the names of the eight seeded clubs [those that finished in positions 1 to 8 last season].
c) Pot B was empty and used to determine home and away designations.
d) Pot C contained the names of the remaining eight unseeded clubs.

All 16 teams in the South African elite league will be aiming to win the title, with Magesi FC being the defending champions, having won it in the last term.
Dikwena Tsa Meetse clinched the Carling Knockout title by defeating Mamelodi Sundowns 2-1 in the final at the Free State Stadium in Bloemfontein.
The champion of the Carling Knockout will earn R6.85 million, while the second place will receive R2.85 million.
Meanwhile, the semi-finalists will pocket R1.35 million, with the quarter-finalists earning R850,000, and the teams eliminated in the last 16 will receive just R550,000.
The PSL will announce the dates, venues and times in due course.
