With embattled Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi recently indicating the need to loan out several players to manage a bloated squad, a sidelined star has become a major transfer target on deadline day.
Chiefs currently have a senior team squad of nearly 40 players, and in his final press conference before exit discussions began, Nabi expressed his desire to trim the squad.
Amakhosi did some good business in the transfer market, signing 10 players. They signed Ethan Chislett, Nkanyiso Shinga, Flavio Silva, Siphesihle Ndlovu, Lebo Maboe, Luke Baartman, Asanele Velebayi, Thabiso Monyane, Etiosa Ighodaro and Paseka Mako.
The arrival of the new signings has seen several players struggle for game time.
The likes of Happy Mashiane, Samkelo Zwane, Dillan Solomons, and Tashreeq Morris have yet to make a matchday squad.
Durban City FC previously targeted Morris, but the transfer fell through amid claims that Chiefs delayed the process.
SIWELELE EYES CHIEFS’ MIDFIELD STAR SAMKELO ZWANE FOR LOAN DEAL

Now, Zwane, an exciting midfielder, has emerged as a target for Siwelele FC, who are racing against time to strengthen their squad.
Siwelele chairman Calvin Le John revealed that the club plans to sign five or six players to boost team competitiveness. The 23-year-old midfielder has struggled to secure a place in the matchday squad following the arrival of Siphesihle Ndlovu. His situation could worsen with Lebo Maboe likely to be available soon as a midfield option.
FARPost has established that Zwane, who boasts exceptional passionate abilities, is wanted by the newly acquired side. The Amakhosi academy graduate, who is capable of playing an advanced role in midfield or defence, has the quality to help Siwelele.
However, the success of any deal hinges on whether the two clubs can agree on how to handle the player’s remuneration during the loan period.
