Experienced defender Ebrahim Seedat has found a new home in the Motsepe Foundation Championship, signing a deal with Kruger United.

The well-travelled left-back joins the Mpumalanga side on a free transfer following Cape Town Spurs’ relegation from the South African second-tier last season.

Kruger confirmed the acquisition of the 32-year-old on Tuesday, September 23, on their social media platforms.

Seedat’s signing is set to solidify Kruger’s defence, as the player boasts both Betway Premiership and Motsepe Foundation Championship experience, having previously represented teams such as Bidvest Wits, Cape Town City FC, TS Galaxy, and the now-defunct Milano United.

The player also had his fair share of playing abroad for clubs like KSC Lokeren and Degerfors IF in Belgium and Sweden, respectively.

KRUGER UNITED OFFICIAL STATEMENT ON EBRAHIM SEEDAT’S SIGNING

Kruger expressed satisfaction with the signing of the seasoned defender, confident that he will bring significant value to the team during the 2025/26 Motsepe Foundation Championship season.

“The Village Boys strengthen their defence! We’re proud to welcome Seedat Ebrahim, former Cape Town Spurs player, to the Village Boys family. His experience and skill will be a huge boost to our backline. Welcome to the Village, Seedat!,” said the club in a statement.

In the previous season, Kruger ended up in fifth place on the Motsepe Foundation Championship table, accumulating 45 points from 30 outings. The club failed to secure a spot in the PSL Promotional/Relegation Playoffs on the final day of the 2024/25 season.

Meanwhile, in the current campaign, Kruger finds itself in position eight with five points after four games.

With Seedat’s signing, Kruger supporters will be hoping that things will be different in the new season and that they will challenge for the league title.
