Cape Town City FC star Keagan Dolly has weighed in on the club’s dismal run in the Motsepe Foundation Championship following their relegation from the Betway Premiership at the end of last season.
The Citizens are finding their first season in the Motsepe Foundation Championship challenging. After being relegated from the Betway Premiership, CT City have had a rocky start, making their bid for automatic promotion a difficult task.
CT City are still searching for their maiden victory in the Motsepe Foundation after playing three draws and suffering one defeat in four matches played. In four rounds of matches, the Cape Town-based side drew against Venda FC, Hungry Lions FC, Kruger United, and lost against Casric Stars. CT City have scored three goals and conceded the same number of goals.
As concerns mount over the club’s ability to return to the top-flight, Keagan Dolly has emphasised the need for Cape Town City to start converting their scoring chances into goals. The experienced player believes that clinical finishing is the key to winning matches and turning their season around.

WHAT KEAGAN DOLLY SAID ABOUT CAPE TOWN CITY’S FORM
The talented winger joined CT City on a free transfer in the current window after parting ways with TS Galaxy at the end of last season. Meanwhile, Dolly has extensive experience playing for teams such as Ajax Cape Town, Mamelodi Sundowns, Montpellier SC, Kaizer Chiefs, and Galaxy, and has also represented Bafana Bafana.
“I would like to start by thanking the fans that always come out in numbers at home, we feel their energy,” Dolly told the club’s media department at Athlone Stadium on Sunday.
“The match [against Kruger United] was a little tough; we got a lot of chances, but we didn’t convert. And I think those are the moments we need to really stay focused on during our games.
“We do create chances, but we need to start converting those chances. It’s been a difficult start, and we haven’t been getting the three points we deserve, but we need to keep pushing.”
