Sekhukhune United kept their unbeaten run after a draw with Chippa United as TS Galaxy, Orbit College FC and Richards Bay FC picked up vital wins in the Betway Premiership on Wednesday night.
At the New Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane, Sekhukhune played to a 1-1 draw with Chippa, maintaining their unbeaten streak. They have so far managed six wins and two draws. Plausibly, they remain the only team yet to taste defeat this season.
Last time out, Sekhukhune beat Golden Arrows courtesy of a late goal from Bradley Grobler. Meanwhile, The Chilli Boys lost 2-1 to Polokwane City FC. Sekhukhune were visibly dominant, but they somehow failed to capitalise on the chances they created in the first half.
Babina Noko found themselves trailing in the 53rd minute when Boy Madingwane beat goalkeeper Toaster Nsabata from close range. However, Grobler equalised in the 79th minute. That was his sixth goal in eight Betway Premiership matches. Sekhukhune remain at the summit of the Betway Premiership table, with 20 points on their tally.

MAHLAMBI SHINES AS TS GALAXY OUTSMART AMAZULU
At Mbombela Stadium, TS Galaxy put up a decent show to beat ten-man AmaZulu FC 3-1. TS Galaxy were quick to assert their intentions of collecting maximum points at home. Seluleko Mahlambi thrust the Rockets ahead after 12 minutes of play. Usuthu tried hard to come back in the first half, but the Rockets were resolute in defending.
TS Galaxy were hungrier for goals in the second half, and their pressure paid dividends in the 49th minute when AmaZulu FC defender Keegan Allan turned the ball into his own net. However, AmaZulu FC pulled one back in the 70th minute via the forceful Zimbabwean striker, Thandolwenkosi Ngwenya.
But Mory Keita made it three for The Rockets in the 80th minute.ย AmaZuluโs Siyanda Hlangabeza was red-carded in the match. As a result, TS Galaxy are fourth on the table with 13 points on their tally. Additionally, AmaZulu FC are ninth with 11 points.
ORBIT COLLEGE FC STUN POLOKWANE CITY FC
At the Olympia Park Stadium, Orbit College FC and Polokwane City were deadlocked at the break. Polokwane City FC came into this one riding high following their win over Chippa United, while Orbit College FC were counting on home advantage after picking a point on the road in their 1-1 draw with Marumo Gallants last weekend.
Mbulelo Wagaba broke the deadlock two minutes after the hour mark, as Orbit College seized control of proceedings. That was all they needed to win and leap to 12th position on the log table. Polokwane City are now in seventh place with 12 points on their tally.
At the Danie Craven Stadium, Stellenbosch FC and Durban City FC settled for a goalless draw. Stellenbosch FC were desperate for a win after losing to Richards Bay in their last match. On the other hand, Durban City suffered a 3-1 loss at the hands of the defending champions, Mamelodi Sundowns. Stellies endured a tough spell heading into this match, losing four matches, including the MTN8 final.
Both teams fired blanks and could not be separated until full-time. As a result, the Steve Barker-coachedd side are stuck in 14th position, with five points on their tally. Durban City are sixth on the table with 12 points from eight matches.
In another match played at the Umhlathuze Sports Complex, Richards Bay beat Magesi FC 1-0 courtesy of a goal by Lindokuhle Zikhali. It was an evenly balanced affair in the first half, with no goals to separate the two teams. And Zikhaliโs 76th minute goal was enough to earn Richards Bay maximum points at home. They moved to eighth position where they have eleven points from eight matches.
