Former Simba SC coach Fadlu Davids has revealed his objectives following his reunion with Raja Club Athletic as the club’s new head coach.
The South African coach, Davids, was officially named Raja’s new gaffer on Monday, 22 September, after he left Tanzanian giants Simba over the weekend.
The 44-year-old is back at the club, having assisted former Orlando Pirates coach Josef Zinnbauer in guiding the team to a double triumph in the 2023/24 season, which included both the Botola league title and the Throne Cup
Davids steps into the role previously held by coach Lassaad Chabbi, who was shown the exit door by the club. Coach Davids has already hit the ground running, having had his first training session with the club on Tuesday.
He will work alongside Darian Wilken, who will serve as an assistant coach. Meanwhile, Durell Butler will be club’s fitness coach, Mueez Kajee as the video analyst, and his fellow countryman Wayne Sandilands working as the goalkeeper coach.

WHAT FADLU DAVIDS INTENDS TO ACHIEVE AS RAJA CLUB ATHLETIC
David expressed his intention to transform Raja back to its best form and is focused on adding further titles to their trophy cabinet.
“It’s a fantastic feeling to be back home—a club where we have a good rapport and have received a warm welcome from the players already. I hope we can have a successful season. The atmosphere within the club is different and very professional, from the top all the way down,” said Davids.
“We want to cultivate that excitement throughout the club. We had a fantastic start to the training and received a positive response from the players. Now, we have to take this feeling, motivation, and professionalism to the pitch and into the entire club.
“With a big team like Raja, with an ambitious coach like me, I want to go for every trophy that is available of course. It starts with the Botola, we have to try to win every game.”
