Having gone for 23 matches in all competitions without scoring, ex-Kaizer Chiefs talisman Khama Billiat finally ended his longest dry spell.
The 35-year-old has been a pale shadow of himself in Zimbabweโs 2025 season. While he plays for a star-studded outfit, Scottland FC, Billiat has endured arguably the worst spell of his career. He joined Scottland FC from Yadah FC in January.
In the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League, Billiat has managed one goal which he scored on 13 April 2025 in Scottland FCโs 1-1 draw with Yadah FC. That was on matchday six of the league.
From then on, the former PSL star struggled to get it right despite getting significant game time. So far, 28 matches have been played in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer league. Scottland FC are two points shy of leaders, Simba Bhora FC who have 55 points.

KHAMA BILLIAT SCORES AS SCOTTLAND FC CRUSH OUT OF THE 2025 CHIBUKU SUPER CUP
However, the former Mamelodi Sundowns star turned the hands of time on Sunday afternoon at the Barbourfields Stadium in Bulawayo. He scored Scottland FCโs second goal albeit on a losing note in the quarter-finals of the Chibuku Super Cup.
Billiat broke through on a counter-attack before unleashing a rasping shot from range to beat goalkeeper Ariel Sibanda who remained rooted at one spot in the 33rd minute. It was a beauty from Billiat, and it marked his return to scoring ways.
Kingsley Mureremba scored Scottland FC’s first goal. Learnmore Muyambo notched Highlandersโ first goal before Andrew Mbeba made it 2-2 in the 90th minute, forcing the match to be settled via penalties. Scottland FC lost 2-1 on penalties.
In truth, Billiat is desperate to rise again especially as the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations [AFCON] nears. His dip in form could cost him a place in The Warriors of Zimbabweโs squad for the continental tournament. Last season, he scored 13 goals and provided 11 assists for Yadah FC.
He was overlooked in the recent 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers where Zimbabwe played Benin and Rwanda. It will not be shocking if he is omitted again in the squad to represent Zimbabwe at the tournament to be held in Morocco later this year.
