Struggling Betway Premiership side Siwelele FC have confirmed the signing of former Orlando Pirates striker Zakhele Lepasa, a move first reported by FARPost.
The Buccaneers released the Bafana Bafana striker at the end of the 2024/25 season. This is after the 28-year-old struggled for game time at the club where he spent the past five seasons.
After he departed from the Soweto giants, Lepasa was linked with newly promoted side Durban City FC, with coach Gavin Hunt showing keen interest. However, the move fell through after the two parties could not reach an agreement.
It didn’t take long for Lepasa to find a new home as Siweleleย took to their social media platforms on Thursday to announce the arrival of Lepasa, who has also featured for the now-defunct SuperSport United and TS Galaxy.

Siwelele will be hoping that the likes of Ohizu and Lepasa will help them improve their log standings as well as bring in goals.
The club currently sit at the bottom of the Betway Premiership with four points from their eight matches. They have struggled to score goals this season after the three they scored in their opening match of the season against Golden Arrows.
Since then, the club has gone seven matches without scoring while conceding 10 in the process.
Their next league match will be the Free State Derby against Marumo Gallants at Dr Molemela Stadium, Bloemfontein on Sunday, 28 September.
