The PSL has confirmed the highly anticipated dates, venues, and kick-off times for the Carling Knockout Cup Round of 16 fixtures. The knockout matches, featuring the 16 teams from the Betway Premiership, will run from Friday, October 3, to Sunday, October 5, 2024.
The competition will see teams vying for the third edition of the Carling Knockout Cup title, with reigning champions Magesi FC looking to defend their crown.
Dikwena tลกa Meetse secured an unexpected 2-1 victory over Mamelodi Sundowns in the final last November, which was played at the Free State Stadium in Bloemfontein.
ROUND OF 16 CONFIRMED DATES AND VENUES
On 4 October, Orlando Pirates, fresh from lifting the MTN8 title for the fourth consecutive season, host Siwelele FC at the Orlando Stadium in Soweto.
Interestingly, the two teams recently faced off in the Betway Premiership. ย The Buccaneers won it 1-0, thanks to a late goal by Oswin Appollis. Newcomers Orbit College FC take on TS Galaxy FC at Olympia Park Stadium in Rustenburg.
On the same day, Golden Arrows play host to Sekhukhune United at the King Zwelithini Stadium in Umlazi at 18h00. Defending Betway Premiership champions Mamelodi Sundowns kick off their Carling campaign in Atteridgeville with a clash against Marumo Gallants. The tie will be played at the Lucas Moripe Stadium, with kick-off scheduled for 20h00.
Action concludes on Sunday, 5 October, with three more fixtures. At 15h00, Richards Bay FC go up against Chippa United. This clash will be played at the Umhlathuze Sports Stadium in Richards Bay. On the other hand, Stellenbosch FC and Kaizer Chiefs renew their rivalry at the Cape Town Stadium. The game will start at 15h:00.
Meanwhile, the final game of the round of 16 will see AmaZulu FC playing against defending champions Magesi FC. The encounter will be staged at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban. Kick-off is set for 17h30.
