Kaizer Chiefs captain Zitha Kwinika has rubbished talk about disunity in the Amakhosi dressing room following what looked like a bust-up between Sibongiseni ‘Ox’ Mthethwa and Inacio Miguel during the game against Marumo Gallants on Wednesday.
The two players were seen as confronting each other in what appeared to be a heated moment as Chiefs went on to surrender a slim lead to be held 1-1 by their visitors in this Betway Premiership match at FNB Stadium.
It was an incident which might have been interpreted by some as a lack of coordination between the centre-back and central midfielder, while others could see it as disharmony in the Chiefs squad.
But Kwinika has moved in to clear the air about what happened and paints a picture of a united front ahead of Saturday’s CAF Confederation Cup first preliminary round, second leg clash with Kabuscorp SCP at FNB Stadium in Soweto.
“As a leader, I saw two teammates fighting for good reasons,” Kwinika told journalists.

“It’s a misunderstanding in that whoever was trying to pass the message and say, ‘come let’s do what’s right and important for the team.’ It was not a confrontation in a bad way, but a constructive one for us to get to the goal we want to achieve.
“Whatever happened means one of the two didn’t stick to the plan because in everything we do, there is a plan. Probably if one misses, we call the other one and say ‘no you were supposed to do it this way.’
“So it was nothing in a bad way, but positive to get the team together and keep going.”
THE WHEELS COMING OFF FOR KAIZER CHIEFS
The draw against Gallants was a third successive winless match for Chiefs, who started the season on a high with a five-game unbeaten run in which they kept as many clean sheets.
But they are now staring elimination from the Confederation Cup, having suffered a 1-0 defeat by Kabuscorp in the first leg away in Luanda last weekend.
That leaves the Soweto giants under pressure to overturn that deficit and win on Saturday for them to reach the second preliminary round.
