Ben Youssef hints at Chiefs new signing’s debut

Kaizer Chiefs players training

Kaizer Chiefs assistant coach Khalil Ben Youssef has hinted at giving a debut to a new signing who has yet to appear for the club since joining a few months ago, in the upcoming match against AmaZulu FC. Chiefs will host AmaZulu FC in their next Betway Premiership encounter at the FNB Stadium on Wednesday [19h30].

The clash against a side coached by former coach Arthur Zwane will be their eighth in the league. They started the season strongly, winning four of their first five fixtures.

Their first loss came in the Sekhukhune United fixture, which was followed by Nasreddine Nabiโ€™s suspension from all team activities. The subsequent match against Marumo Gallants ended in a draw.

This makes the upcoming clash against Usuthu a must-win, as it would help build on the positivity of qualifying for the next round in the CAF Confederation Cup.

WHICH CHIEFS NEW SIGNING COULD GET A DEBUT AGAINST AMAZULU

โ€œI think AmaZulu is one of the best teams in the PSL,โ€ Ben Youssef said. โ€œThey play very good football with structure. There is an idea inside. We prepared the plan of the game yesterday with our analyst. We met and prepared the game plan.โ€

In their game against Angolaโ€™s Kabuscorp on Saturday, Amakhosi were unable to field Paseka Mako, Thabiso Monyane, and Siphesihle Ndlovu due to injuries. The Tunisian coach indicated that none of them are likely to be available for the midweek tie.

He, however, hinted that Ethan Chislett, who has yet to play his first official match, could finally make his debut.

โ€œI think still injured players will not come back with us. So, we’ll keep maybe the same squad which played the last game. The last 20 players will be with us. Maybe we’ll also see Ethan [Chislett] in this game.

โ€œWe have to think also about the next game. Also, we have the physical load of the players; we have to manage it. And we have some players who finish with a little bit of a small injury, let me say. So we have to check with the doctor the situation of this player. And then we’ll decide on the best squad InshAllah for this game.โ€
