Renowned football agent Mike Makaab has clarified the reasoning behind the recent decision to facilitate a loan move for Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Samkelo Zwane to Siwelele FC.
The talented central midfielder Samkelo Zwane sealed a loan move to Siwelele FC for the remainder of the 2025/26 Betway Premiership season on the September transfer window deadline day.
In the previous season, Zwane struggled for regular game time at Chiefs under the guidance of Nasreddine Nabi. The Tunisian tactician preferred Sibongiseni Mthethwa and Thabo Cele to the responsibilities in the middle of the park.
After Chiefs added more players to their squad in the recently closed transfer window, Zwane was pushed further down the pecking order this season. As a result, the 23-year-old completed a season-long loan to the Bloemfontein-based side to get regular playing minutes under his belt.
Zwane was promoted to the Chiefs’ senior team in the 2022/23 season after his impressive performances in the club’s DStv Diski Challenge side.
Following Zwane’s difficulties to hold a regular place in the starting line-up in the first team, he has joined Siwelele alongside his teammate Happy Mashiane.
WHAT MAKAAB SAID ABOUT ZWANE’S MOVE TO SIWELELE

Mike Makaab says that the move to Siwelele is a perfect opportunity for the former SA junior international to gain confidence and showcase his full potential.
“I think the loan for Samkelo Zwane to join Siwelele from Chiefs is brilliant for the young man because he can show his full potential,” Makaab told FARPost.
“We all know the qualities that Zwane has, but we also have to realise that he hasn’t played enough, and the club could affect the confidence of the player. Hence, I say that the loan move is perfect in the sense that he can get regular game-time and continue to gain experience.”
So far, since arriving at Siwelele, Zwane has featured twice as a second-half substitute for the club, and he will be looking to start matches in the upcoming games.
