Ex-Royal AM goalkeeper Hugo Nyame has resurfaced at Limpopo side Magesi FC, where he is set to reunite with his former coach John Maduka.

The veteran shot-stopper was spotted training with Dikwena Tsa Meetse at Seshego Stadium just outside Polokwane on Tuesday, 30 September 2025.

This publication has gathered that the 39-year-old goal-minder has been training with the Betway Premiership club for the past two weeks.

According to a source, the Cameroonian international has been roped in by Magesi and he is only waiting for his working paperwork to be done.

As a result, the experienced goalkeeper is set to join Magesi on a free transfer. This follows the expulsion of Royal AM from the PSL last season.

WHAT JOHN MADUKA SAID ABOUT HUGO NYAME’S PRESENCE AT MAGESI FC

When Magesi head coach John Maduka was asked about Nyame’s presence at the club, he stated that the club will make an official statement in due course.

“Well, the management will be able to come to us to tell us about that [decision taken on him]. I don’t want to say something I’m not sure about. But I believe the management will come and handle that,” said Maduka.

Magesi are currently not having it well in the South African top-flight. The club is languishing at the bottom [15th place] of the table with six points after nine games.

The club is now shifting its focus to the Carling Knockout Cup fixture against AmaZulu FC. This game will be played on Sunday, 5 October 2025. The Limpopo club come into this encounter as the defending champions.

Dikwena Tsa Meetse clinched the Carling Knockout title by defeating Mamelodi Sundowns 2-1 in the final. This clash took place at the Free State Stadium in Bloemfontein last season.

The game between Magesi and Usuthu will take place at Moses Mabhida Stadium, with the kick-off set for 18:00.
