Orlando Pirates continue to set the pace in the DStv Diski Challenge after securing a win this weekend, maintaining their perfect start and top spot on the log, while Kaizer Chiefs endured another disappointing outing.

The Bucanners clinched their fourth consecutive victory in the new DDC campaign, defeating Sekhukhune United 2-0 away from home on Saturday. Embodying the robust defensive standards of their senior squad, Pirates’ reserve side is yet to concede a goal in four straight games.

The win over Babina Noko saw them maintain their pole position, now sitting on 13 points from five games. This result pushed Sekhukhune United down to sixth place.

Stellenbosch FC delivered the most emphatic result of the weekend as they produced a dominant 4-0 thrashing of newcomers Orbit College FC on Saturday at home. The spectacular victory helped the former DDC champions surge up the table to fifth position. Orbit College, who have now conceded seven goals in their last two outings, dropped their second straight game.

In other notable results on Saturday, Chiefs once again failed to find a winning formula. The Glamour Boys played to a 1-1 stalemate away to Siwelele FC, collecting just a single point from three games. This lacklustre performance saw Chiefs descend one spot to seventh position on the log.

Richards Bay FC kept hot on the heels of the log leaders, comfortably beating Marumo Gallants 2-0 at home. Bay’s victory keeps them in second place with only a single point separating them from Pirates.

On the other hand, Mamelodi Sundowns secured a 2-1 victory over Chippa United.

Two KwaZulu-Natal teams secured away wins by slender margins: AmaZulu FC edged TS Galaxy 2-1, and Golden Arrows conquered Magesi FC 1-0.

Matchday five concluded with a 1-1 draw between Polokwane City FC and Durban City FC on Sunday. Both teams remain in the lower half of the table at 12th and 13th, respectively.
