SA midfielder Jamie Webber has disclosed what has helped him settle well at the USL Championship side FC Tulsa in the United States of America [USA].

The Bafana Bafana international signed for Tulsa in March 2025 from the Betway Premiership side Sekhukhune United, where he had been on the sidelines for about eight months before his move to the USA.

The 27-year-old fitted in like a glove at Tulsa, having made 23 appearances across all competitions so far, finding the back of the net on four occasions and providing three assists.

To prove his importance to the USA side, Webber scored a brace when his team defeated Lexington SC 3-0 over the weekend in their league encounter.

JAMIE WEBBER OPENS UP ON HIS MOVE TO FC TULSA

Webber mentioned he didn’t think twice about relocating to the USA, and the sense of camaraderie in the club helped him adapt swiftly.

“Look, I came here; I wasn’t scared, so to speak. But I was obviously looking forward to this opportunity. When I got here, I wasn’t sure how they do things and how they train and play,” Webber told FARPost.

“However, I quickly got used to it because there is a standard here regarding attitude, mentality, work rate, and everything. So, obviously, the players were welcoming to me. We have a good team that is very united; everybody speaks to everyone, and there are no groups or cliques. That really helped me settle in.

“It’s been nice here, but it’s just hot. It’s like Durban; it’s humid and hot, but there is air conditioning in the apartment, so that comes in handy.”

Currently, Tulsa is cruising nicely at the top of the USL Championship Western Conference standings with 50 points after 27 matches. They are six points ahead of the second-placed Sacramento Republic FC.
