Kaizer Chiefs have made a major decision on the future of assistant coaches Cedric Kaze and Khalil Ben Youssef following the exit of head coach Nasreddine Nabi.
The Glamour Boys have recently announced the departure of head coach Nabi, on mutual consent, after weeks of being absent from the bench.
Nabi has steered the Amakhosi’s ship since the start of the previous Betway Premiership season after arriving from Moroccan side AS FAR in July 2024.
The highly-rated coach had a challenging stint with Chiefs after guiding the side to an underwhelming ninth-place finish in the league last season.
Nabi salvageld Chiefs’ season with a Nedbank Cup triumph after winning the title in May 2025, with a 2-1 victory over rivals Orlando Pirates in the final. The Nedbank Cup success secured the CAF Confederation Cup qualification for Chiefs in the 2025/26 campaign.
KAZE AND BEN YOUSSEF REPLACE NABI
After Nabi’s shocking exit, Chiefs have appointed Kaze and Ben Youssef as the interim coaches for the remainder of the season. The coaching duo arrived at the club with Nabi, serving as first and second assistant coaches, respectively.

Kaze and Ben Youssef took charge of the Naturena-based side early in the season when Nabi was on family responsibility leave.
“Following the announcement earlier today of a mutual parting of ways between Kaizer Chiefs FC and Head Coach Nasreddine Nabi, the Club can confirm that Coaches Khalil Ben Youssef and Cedric Kaze will lead the technical team for the remainder of the 2025/26 season,” Chiefs revealed.
Meanwhile, the two coaches have also been in charge of the Soweto giants during the period when the two parties were finalising the exit.
Last weekend, Kaze and Ben Youssef crashed out of the Carling Knockout Cup Round of 16 after losing 5-4 on penalties against Stellenbosch FC at the DHL Stadium. They will be looking to redeem themselves and return to winning ways as Kaizer Chiefs are winless in their last three matches in the league.
