Betway Premiership giants Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed a surprise venue to host their second preliminary match in the 2025/26 CAF Confederation Cup.
Amakhosi are set to face AS Simba of DRC in the Confed Cup after the FIFA international break. Chiefs advanced to the second round of the tournament after defeating Angolan side Kabuscorp SCP 5-4 on penalties. The first preliminary round between Chiefs and Kabuscorp was decided on penalties. The two sides played to a 1-1 draw over two legs.
The Glamour Boys booked a spot in this season’s Confederation Cup after winning the 2025 Nedbank Cup title. Chiefs clinched the trophy after beating arch-rivals Orlando Pirates 2-1 at Moses Mabhida Stadium in May.
Having passed the first hurdle in the CAF Interclubs competition, Chiefs will travel to Lubumbashi to face AS Simba at TP Mazembe in the first-leg.

The return leg will see Kaizer Chiefs welcome Simba at Dobsonville Stadium instead of their usual home venue, FNB Stadium. While the Naturena-based side didn’t state reasons for the venue choice, they revealed that the match will take place at Dobsonville Stadium.
“Kaizer Chiefs are gearing up for a crucial double-header in the second preliminary round of the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup, with venues and dates now confirmed for their home and away fixtures against AS Simba of the Democratic Republic of Congo,” Chiefs said on social media.
“Amakhosi will travel to Lubumbashi for the first-leg later this week. The match is scheduled to kick off at 15:00 on Saturday, 18 October, at TP Mazembe Stadium.
“The return leg will be hosted at Dobsonville Stadium in Soweto on Sunday, 26 October. With home advantage, Chiefs will look to seal their spot in the group stages of this seasonโs competition.”
