Rwanda National Team coach Adel Amrouche has told Kaizer Chiefs that if they do not plan to play his first-choice goalkeeper, Fiacre Ntwari, whom he considers ‘one of the best,’ they should let him go.
Ntwari has had limited game time since moving to Amakhosi from TS Galaxy last season.
In the 2025/26 season, the 26-year-old appeared in the first seven matches before the club rotated between Bruce Bvuma and Brandon Petersen. This season, his only start was in the Carling Knockout Cup round of 16 against Stellenbosch FC. He kept a clean sheet in that game as the Soweto giants went on to lose in the penalty shootout.
The Algerian coach revealed that he had discussions with the Amakhosi technical team, particularly goalkeeper coach Ilyes Mzoughi.
ADEL AMROUCHE’S MESSAGE TO KAIZER CHIEFS ON FIACRE NTWARI

“I had a good discussion with Ilyes [Mzoughi], the [goalkeeper] coach of Kaizer Chiefs. I cannot interfere in the work of the coaches, but it was just communication to see how we can keep Fiacre in good shape and also at that level of competition,” said Amrouche.
He has maintained his trust in the Amavubi Stars’ goalkeeper despite his lack of game time.
“It’s not easy, and I am happy to have that collaboration with the coaches everywhere, especially with the coaches for Kaizer Chiefs.”
He said in his opinion, “Fiacre is one of the best goalkeepers in Africa”. Amrouche described the former TS Galaxy shot-stopper as “a very talented goalkeeper, a very disciplined player and very positive.”
“I’ve never heard anything negative about his club from him. He loves his club. He has very good contact with his team, and also, his teammates love him. I’m happy he found me in the team because I gave him all that confidence, and the team gave him all that confidence to be number one in the team.”
The former Taifa Stars coach stated that, in the best interest of the player’s future, if they were not keen on having Ntwari on their team, they should let him go. “But I think if you don’t let him play, let him go because it’s better not to stop the quality for one person like Fiacre.”
