In the build-up to Bafana Bafana’s decisive 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Rwanda on Tuesday night, star forward Lyle Foster has shared his thoughts and perspective on the monumental, must-win fixture.
Hugo Broos’ charges are set to take on Rwanda at the Mbombela Stadium in Mpumalanga. The kick-off for this much-awaited showdown will be at 18:00.
Bafana come into this encounter under enormous pressure as they failed to secure three points when they faced Zimbabwe on Friday in Durban. The game ended in a 0-0 scoreline, leaving most South African football fanatics disappointed, including the players and coach Broos.
South Africa needs nothing but a win to increase its chances of qualifying for the World Cup when they face Rwanda.
Currently, Benin is in a good position to book their ticket to the World Cup, having accumulated 17 points, while ย second-placed Bafana have 15 points and one match left to play in Group C.
LYLE FOSTER FEELING CONTENT WITH GETTING A POSITIVE RESULT AGAINST RWANDA
The Burnley FC frontman emphasised that nothing is lost and believes there’s still a lot to play for on Tuesday.

Foster went on to state that he’s “feeling okay” after he was seen limping following their goalless draw against our neighbours, Zimbabwe.
“I feel okay. Obviously, it wasn’t the result that we wanted. I think we believed that we would get a different result. However, it wasn’t to be, but I think it’s how it goes sometimes. I think we played really well,” said Foster.
“The mood in the camp is still very good. We know it’s still far from over. We play on Tuesday, a very big game, and I think we will get the result. So, it’s just about focusing on the next one.
“The past is the past now. It’s done and dusted, and we need to move forward. Like I said, there’s still so much to play for, and there’s no reason at all to be despondent.”
