Sekhukhune United goalkeeper Toaster Nsabata has opened up about his return to the club after he had initially left two years ago.
The Zambian international left Sekhukhune in July 2023 to join Zambia Super League side ZESCO United on a free transfer.
Before his departure at Sekhukhune, Nsabata had made 36 appearances with 14 clean sheets and conceded 29 goals for the club. He has sinceย made a return to the club before the beginning of the 2025/26 Betway Premiership season. He has already featured five times under coach Eric Tinkler.
In an interview with FARPost, the 31-year-old has explained why he couldn’t say no when he received the call to return to Sekhukhune in the SA top-flight.
TOASTER NSABATA OPENS UP ON HIS RETURN TO THE BETWAY PREMIERSHIP SIDE
“There is always a lost son [he laughed]. First and foremost, I am happy to be back at Sekhukhune,” Nsabata told FARPost.
“This is my home. So when the bosses called me to say you needed to come, I didn’t want to say so many things. I just answered to say I will come, my father.”

Babina Noko currently have Renaldo Leaner and Equatorial Guinea international Manuel Sapunga as the other goalkeepers. Sapunga was signed after he parted ways with Polokwane City FC, while Leaner has been with the club since 2023.
WHY NSABATA EMBRACES COMPETITION WITHIN SEKHUKHUNE
Nsabata says he embraces the healthy competition in the team, which keeps him on his toes.
“I had been following this team just after leaving, so I have been seeing what was happening to this team,” he added.
“The club has good goalkeepers, all internationals. Leaner who is part of the national team, and there is Sapunga, who is also part of the team.
“So when they called me back, I knew I had to do my work, and it’s good to have competition. When I look at the competition here, it will push me as well to work extremely hard.”
