CT City announce the signing of ex-Spurs forward

Therlo Moosa being officially unveiled by Cape Town City on Friday

Motsepe Foundation Championship side Cape Town City FC has announced the signing of forward Therlo Moosa, formerly with Cape Town Spurs.

The move follows Moosaโ€™s victory against CT Spurs in obtaining his clearance through a PSL Dispute Resolution Chamber [DRC] decision.

The 31-year-old was declared a free agent on Friday, after he struggled to obtain his clearance from his former club despite them being relegated to the SAFA ABC Motsepe League.

CT Spurs have had similar cases with the likes of newly signed Kaizer Chiefs duo Asanele Velebayi and Luke Baartman.

Despite the PSL DRC declaring the players as free agents, CT Spurs took the matter to the SAFA arbitration, but did not succeed.

THERLO MOOSA OFFICIALLY ANNOUNCED AS THE LATEST SIGNING BY CAPE TOWN CITY

Meanwhile, the Citizens officially confirmed the arrival of Moosa on their social media platforms on Friday. He described his choice to join the club as an easy one, given the significance of the club badge.

โ€œIt came quite easily, [the decision to join CT City.] Itโ€™s an ambitious club with good coaches and good players,โ€ said Moosa, who was quoted by the club.

The player also started training with his new teammates on Friday as they prepare for the resumption of the league after the October FIFA international break.

THE CITIZENS ARE STILL LOOKING FOR THEIR FIRST WIN IN THE MOTSEPE FOUNDATION CHAMPIONSHIP

CT City have struggled since their relegation from the Betway Premiership at the end of last season.

They are yet to win a single match, with three draws and three defeats. The club has only scored two goals in their six matches so far.

Their next match will be away to newly promoted side Midlands Wanders on Saturday, 18 October at the Chatsworth Stadium.
