Relegation bells are ringing louder for Chippa United following some late drama in the 2-1 defeat by Marumo Gallants in a Betway Premiership match at the Dr Petrus Molemela Stadium on Sunday.
Seleka Sithole beat the Chilli Boys goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali with a low shot on the hour mark, but Bienvenu Eva Nga made it one apiece with an equaliser two minutes from time.
New signing Eoine Agnikoi then reclaimed the lead for the home side deep into stoppage time to send Chippa to the foot of the table.
The Gqeberha-based side has now gone for three successive matches without tasting victory as Gallants are now 10th after going one place up the log.
MAGESI FC RISE FROM THE BASEMENT OF THE LOG
At the Seshego Stadium, Magesi FC built up on their Carling Knockout Cup Last-16 triumph to ease relegation woes by coming from behind to beat visiting TS Galaxy FC 2-1 on Saturday.
Following a goalless first half, Seluleko Mahlambi thrust the Rockets ahead in the 65th minute, but Lehlogonolo Mokone hit back for the hosts six minutes later. Former Mamelodi Sundowns attacker Thabang Sibanyoni then grabbed the winner with nine minutes to go.
Starting the day at the bottom of the log, Magesi climbed three rungs up the ladder to 13th position while TS Galaxy remain eighth.

Monnapule Saleng was on target as Orbit College FC secured maximum points on the road by edging Richards Bay FC 2-1 at the uMhlathuze Sports Complex on Friday night.ย

Knox Mutizwa then levelled matters for the Natal Rich Boyz towards halftime before Salengโs match-winning strike. It was a big win for Orbit College who rose from position 14 on the table to 12th spot. Richards Bay remained 11th on the standings after recording a second successive league defeat.
