Mamelodi Sundowns cruised to a comfortable 5-1 win against Remo Stars in a CAF Champions League Second Preliminary Round first-leg clash at Abiola International Stadium in Nigeria on Sunday.
Sundowns dominated from the beginning of the match and were the first to pose a real threat through Nuno Santos. However, his shot on target was saved by the Remo Stars goalkeeper.
But the visitors were finally rewarded with an opening goal after Tashreeq Matthews‘ shot from outside the box was difficult to stop for the home side in the 12th minute.
Aubrey Modiba could have scored a second for the visitors after he was left unmarked inside the 18-yard box, but his indecisiveness cost him the opportunity.
