The infamous revolving door at Chippa United has turned once more, with the club moving swiftly to finalise the exit of head coach Luc Eymael and one of the technical team members.
After a disappointing two-month tenure that saw the Chilli Boys sink to the bottom of the Betway Premiership table, the club has decisively cut ties with the Belgian mentor.
Eymael, who took over from Sinethemba Badela, oversaw seven matches in all competitions, securing only one victory against Orbit College FC. The team suffered four losses and managed two draws under his guidance. The unsatisfactory start, which saw the club tally just six points from 10 league games overall, has prompted the club’s management to act swiftly.
Late on Tuesday, the two parties reached a mutual agreement to part company and are expected to finalise on Wednesday. Already on the ground in the Eastern Cape, the new man tasked with rescuing the season is Vusi Vilakazi, who arrives from Kruger United.

Vilakazi, who landed in Gqeberha on Wednesday morning, has penned a deal that keeps him at the club until the end of the season, with a review of his future planned for the close of the campaign. โKanuโ is expected to be introduced to the team this morning as he begins preparations for their next fixture against his former club, AmaZulu FC.
WHAT HAPPENS TO CHIPPA UNITED STAFF AFTER LUC EYMAELโS EXIT?
This latest overhaul sees a fresh face in the dugout while a few key members of the incumbent coaching staff are set to remain with the club. Eymael is not the only departure. Tunisian goalkeeper coach Walid Ben Othman, who arrived with Eymael, will also be leaving the club.
However, a degree of stability remains on the technical bench, with assistant coaches Selaoetse โSlyโ Mosala and Hlanga Dikeni, and conditioning coach Morten Ridgard, all reportedly remaining with the Chilli Boys.
The management will be hoping the change injects life into the struggling side before their next league clash against Usuthu on November 1st. The KZN outfit is coming off a 1-0 win over city rivals Durban City FC.
Vilakazi, who has previously held the Technical Director role at Chippa, will be eager to turn the clubโs fortunes around.
