Cape Town City FC assistant coach Lebogang Manyama has shed light on Keagan Dolly’s future and influential role in the team’s bid to turn their Motsepe Foundation Championship season around.
The former Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns star joined Cape Town City as a free agent after leaving TS Galaxy at the end of last season. He joined TS Galaxy in November 2024 following his departure from Amakhosi.
The 32-year-old winger signed a one-year deal with CT City, marking a return to Cape Town, where he made his professional breakthrough with Ajax Cape Town.
Seven matches have been played in the 2025/26 Motsepe Foundation Championship, and The Citizens have one win, three draws and three defeats. They beat Midlands Wanderers FC 3-2 in a match that was played at Harry Gwala Stadium on Saturday.
However, assistant coach Manyama is banking on Dolly to help the team turn a corner. In an interview with FARPost, Manyama said Dolly has been influential in improving morale and confidence in the team since his arrival.
WHAT LEBOGANG MANYAMA SAID ABOUT KEAGAN DOLLY

“Even if it was NFD, he wanted to come. And we thought, why not? And honestly, he has helped us big time. He has improved the team, and he has improved the morale. A guy like Keagan is a natural leader. He was a leader at a very young age. We tend to forget what Keagan has achieved in South African football based only on the past few years, “Manyama told FARPost.
“But Keagan is a top player. I know him personally. I know him as a person. And I know very well that the fitter he gets, the better he gets because I’ve seen it before. So he has come, and he is playing the role of a senior, of course, based on what he has achieved and his experience. And he is helping the younger boys. And he is a player that we have put out to say that we want to build a future with. It doesn’t only end now with NFD.”
MANYAMA ON DOLLY’S FUTURE AT CAPE TOWN CITY FC
Manyama added that Dolly wants to end his career on a high note and helping CT City return to the Betway Premiership is one of his goals. In addition, Manyama revealed that Dolly is firmly in the team’s future plans as they want to tap into his experience.
“I think Keagan would also like to finish his career well. And we spoke about it. And I think he is at the right place to help us grow together and take this club back to where it belongs. So it’s not only a one-year thing. I think in a couple of years, Keagan will still be here helping out in a lot of ways because he’s that kind of person.
“And with his experience and also the winning mentality, because he has won a lot also. So it comes in, and we need that. And, yeah, we’re very grateful to have a player like Keagan,” added Manyama.
