TS Galaxy coach Adnan Beganovic has opened up on the club’s transfer dispute with a Motsepe Foundation Championship side over the signature of talented midfielder Matome Mmolai.
Galaxy announced the arrival of Mmolai from the Motsepe Foundation Championship side JDR Stars. This was before JDR Stars told their status to Leicesterford City FC ahead of the ongoing 2025/26 season.
The attacking midfielder impressed in his first season in the second division after joining Stars at the start of the 2024/25 season. Mmolai made a name for himself at JDR Stars with his ability to control the tempo of the match in the middle of the park and his eye for goal.
The skilful midfielder was in the colours of Dondol Stars in the Gauteng ABC Motsepe League before making a move to JDR Stars. Following his move to the Rockets in the SA top-flight, Mmolai is yet to register and play official matches. Galaxy is in a dispute with Leicesterford, who bought the status of JDR Stars in the off-season.
In an ongoing dispute, the new club claims that TS Galaxy failed to follow the right channels to sign Mmolai, which has resulted in Leicesterford withholding his clearance.
