Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Humphrey Mlwane has clarified his future at newly promoted side, The Bees FC, following strong links with the Baroka FC job.

Mlwane was tipped to replace Dan Malesela at the Motsepe Foundation Championship side following his suspension on Monday.

But Baroka on Tuesday appointed former AmaTuks head coach Tlisane Motaung, with Matsemela Thoka as his assistant for the remainder of the 2025/26 season.

However, there have been questions on whether Mlwane has resigned from his job at The Bees or not. This is after he was not seen at the training session this week.

Mlwane has since revealed that he was missing at The Bees, following a family bereavement. He also denied any negotiations with Baroka for the coaching job.

“No, I didn’t negotiate. I don’t know anything about negotiations with Baroka because I am at home,โ€ he told FARPost.

EX-KAIZER CHIEFS MIDFIELDER DENIES NEGOTIATING WITH BAROKA FC

โ€œI am sure the management at the Bees are also surprised because they know that I am home with my family, and now news is popping up. That would be unfair for them. I have never done that.”

“I am committed to the Bees. The ambition is to try and win every game. We just win every game and see where we will end up. But we are ambitious, that’s why we have a strong team, and that’s why we kept 90 per cent of our boys because we have seen that they have talent and they can take this team far.”

“I am not sure if it’s because of the good job that I am doing. But you know, sometimes players and coaches there will always be speculation about our movements. It’s always like that, and it does start with me. But for me, I am still adjusting to the NFD. I am new, and I don’t want to throw myself in the deep end. Let me just concentrate on the Bees and see what’s going to happen at the end of the season.”
