Betway Premiership club AmaZulu FC has secured two highly-rated players from Zimbabwe, who are set to join the team in January 2026, it has emerged.
The duo, midfielder Mason Mushore and striker Takunda Benhura are currently plying their trade in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League of Zimbabwe for Highlanders FC and Ngezi Platinum Stars, respectively.
According to Zimbabwean publication, Nehanda Radio, both players have agreed to two-year deals with the Betway Premiership outfit.
Subsequently, they are expected to join AmaZulu in January 2026, thereby adding to the Zimbabwean presence at the club. Three games remain before Zimbabwe’s PSL wraps up.

Notably, they will join fellow countryman Thandolwenkosi Ngwenya, who has already made a significant impact with four league goals in eight matches.
The duo’s move to AmaZulu FC was reportedly finalised after weeks of speculation, with indications that they chose Usuthu over interest from other clubs in South Africa, Europe, and Zimbabwe.
Interestingly, Mushore has been a pillar at Highlanders FC for the last two seasons, while Benhura helped Ngezi Platinum Stars win the 2023 league title.
Furthermore, Benhura won the 2023 Golden Boot in Zimbabwe and was part of the squad that featured at the 2024 COSAFA tournament.
In July, Mushore was linked with a Czech Republic club after undergoing trials, but nothing materialised.
Meanwhile, their countryman, Ngwenya, appears to have established himself well at the club. Ngwenya joined AmaZulu FC from FC Platinum prior to the 2025/26 Betway Premiership season.
Plausibly, the 22-year-old is slowly establishing himself as a mainstay in Arthur Zwane’s strike-force. He has been reliable and forceful that Zwane has thrown him into the fray in eight league matches. However, he was injured while on Zimbabwe national duty.
At the moment, he is the club’s top goalscorer, having managed to score four goals. Moreover, he has cemented his place in the Zimbabwe national team, where he is in line to play at the 2025 AFCON in Morocco.
