Kaizer Chiefs claimed a late winner against Durban City FC in a Betway Premiership tie at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Friday night, thanks to a strike from Flavio Da Silva.
The match seemed to have been headed to a draw before Silva scored a late header to give Amakhosi all three points away from home, winning a first game in the league since the 30th of August.
Chiefs kicked off what promises to be a great weekend of action in the Premiership with a trip to KZN to face Durban City.
The Soweto giants returned to league action after participating in the CAF Confederation Cup second preliminary round in the past two weeks. Chiefs defeated AS Simba 3-0 on aggregate over two legs to secure a spot in the group stages of the Confed Cup.
The Naturena-based side is winless in their last four matches in the league after last tasting a victory in a 1-0 win over Golden Arrows back in August. Chiefs also crashed out of the Carling Knockout Cup with a 5-4 loss on penalties against Stellenbosch FC in the Round of 16.
GLODY LILEPO MISSED A CHANCE TO GIVE CHIEFS A LEAD

In a fierce encounter against City, Chiefs had a great start to the match after coming close to breaking the deadlock in the eighth minute with Glody Lilepo, who received a well-waited pass from Mduduzi Shabalala; however, the DRC attacker could not convert.
After limited scoring opportunities in the first-half, the match went into the half-time break with a scoreline level at goalless. Both sides needed a bit of a creative spark in attack in the second stanza to increase their chances of walking away with maximum points.
The tightly-contested encounter reached the half-hour mark without any team showing real intent to score goals as the tempo of the match dropped drastically in the second-half.
In the 65th minute, Shabalala had a golden opportunity to give Chiefs a lead; however, his goal-bound curling shot came off the head of Mfanafuthi Mkhize to keep the score at 0-0. Flavio Silva came on from the bench to score a goal in the 88th minute to give Chiefs three points.
In another match on Friday night, Siwelele FC beat Sekhukhune United 1-0 with a 74th minute goal from SA-U20 starlet Siviwe Magidigidi at DR Molemela Stadium.
