Saleng rips Magesi apart to inspire Orbit as Chippa’s relegation woes continue

Orbit College vs Magesi FC

Orlando Pirates loanees Monnapule Saleng and Thuso Moleleki scored and made an assist each as 10-man Orbit College FC beat Magesi FC 3-1 in a Betway Premiership match at Olympia Park Stadium on Saturday.

It was the first time for Orbit to win back-to-back PSL games to hand themselves a top-eight chance as they are 11th on the table. Saleng opened the scoreline from the penalty spot on the stroke of halftime before setting up Moleleki to double the home side’s advantage seven minutes into the second half.
Mbulelo Wagaba then extended Orbit College’s lead just after the hour mark with Moleleki being the provider.
Former Kaizer Chiefs attacker Edmore Chirambadare’s strike for Magesi with 20 from fulltime was not enough to inspire the visitors to a comeback. The result left Dikwena tsa Meetsi second from the bottom in a week they were eliminated from the Carling Knockout at the quarter-final stage.
John Maduka’s side failed to win despite facing opponents who played the last 26 minutes with a man down after Katlego Mkhabela was red-carded.

POLOKWANE CITY SURRENDER LEAD TO BE HELD BY RICHARDS BAY

At the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium, Gabadinho Mhango was the hero for the travellers with a late equaliser as Richards Bay forced a 1-1 draw with Polokwane City.

Mokibelo Ramabu thrust the hosts ahead on 31 minutes, but as they seemed headed for a slim win, Mhango made it one apiece with four minutes remaining.

Rise and Shine have now gone for two league matches without winning, leaving them in sixth spot. The Natal Rich Boyz remain 12th after picking up a point.ย

Chippa United remain stranded deep in the relegation zone after suffering a 3-0 home defeat by AmaZulu at Buffalo City Stadium.

Pirates loanee Goodman Mosele missed from the penalty spot early into the game in what appeared to be a morale-sapping incident for a side desperate to escape demotion.

That allowed visitors Usuthu to get themselves into the contest with Hendrick Ekstein breaking the deadlock three minutes before the breather.

Athini Maqokola made it 2-0 for AmaZulu eight minutes after the restart before Ekstein returned to seal his double from the penalty spot in the 66th minute.

While the Chilli Boys remain stuck the the muddy relegation waters, Arthur Zwaneโ€™s side are still fifth on the standings after picking maximum points on the road.ย
