Stellenbosch FC’s woes in the Betway Premiership continued on Sunday as they suffered a 2-0 defeat to TS Galaxy at the Mbombela Stadium.
Meanwhile, Golden Arrows recorded a 4-0 thrashing of Marumo Gallants at the King Goodwill Zwelithini Stadium. In the match between TS Galaxy and Stellenbosch FC, the visitors were looking to bounce back from their awful run so far.
However, it was Galaxy who took control of the game, with Seluleko Mahlambi scoring the decisive goal after seven minutes.
Mahlambi’s sixth goal of the season proved to be the difference-maker, and Galaxy doubled their lead after 62 minutes when Sanele Barnes inadvertently deflected the ball into his own net.
Stellenbosch struggled to create meaningful chances in the second half, and Galaxy’s defense held firm to secure the win. This victory marked Galaxy’s first league win over Stellenbosch since joining the elite league three seasons ago.

With this win, TS Galaxy now sits in fifth position with 16 points from ten matches. On the other hand, Stellenbosch’s loss extends their winless run, and they sit 14th on the table with two wins, three draws, and six defeats.
GOLDEN ARROWS HAMMER MARUMO GALLANTS
In the other match, Golden Arrows dominated Marumo Gallants from the onset, surging ahead after 15 minutes through striker Junior Dion.
The hosts were buoyant in their approach and could have been leading by two goals in the first ten minutes had they been clinical. Marumo Gallants, on the other hand, sat deep in their own half, absorbing the intense pressure from the hosts.
Arrows maintained their momentum in the second half, doubling their lead via Isaac Cissรฉ on the 75th minute. Thokozani Khumalo then made it three for Arrows after 87 minutes.
Just two minutes later, Marumo Gallants were reduced to ten-men when Simo Bright Mbhele was red-carded. Khumalo sealed the win with a goal in additional time, as Arrows secured an emphatic 4-0 victory.
