Kaizer Chiefs have announced an improvement in their injury situation after recently expressing growing concerns about their fitness issues.
The latest development comes as the Soweto giants are preparing to host Orbit College FC in a Betway Premiership tie at FNB Stadium on Tuesday night [19:30]. It is a match the Soweto giants are keen on winning to build on last Friday’s 1-0 victory away at Durban City FC.
Keeping close track of log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns is Amakhosi’s priority as they seek to lift the PSL title for the first time since 2015. The Brazilians enjoy a three-point lead over fourth-placed Chiefs, who have played a game less.
Now, Chiefs have some encouraging news in their camp following the recovery of three defenders, two of them being long-term absentees.
The fitness situation at Naturena had seen even players being injured at training, like Ethan Chislett and striker Flavio da Silva, who recently returned to competitive action.
WHAT’S THE GOOD NEWS FROM THE CHIEFS CAMP?

Co-coach Khalil Ben Youssef has issued an update on centre-backs Rushwin Dortley and Given Msimango, as well as left-back Paseka Mako.
“About Dortley and Given. Dortley is still [out], maybe in two weeks he will be back with us to start training. But Given is part of the team, and he is ready. Just now we are building his fitness; when he is ready, we will introduce him,” said Ben Youssef.
“Mako is part of the team, and he is also ready. He was with us last week. He started [training] last week. You know, after one month out, now he is just starting. He and Given continue to work with our fitness coach to meet their fitness [goals]. When they are ready, they will be part of the team.”
However, Chiefs will host Orbit without central defender Inacio Miguel, who is suspended, while Khanyisa Mayo remains an injury worry.
