Orlando Pirates have issued an injury update on midfield sensation Relebohile Mofokeng and Simphiwe Selepe, who have been missing from action.

The Buccaneers are shifting their focus to Golden Arrows in the Betway Premiership after playing to a 1-1 draw against rivals Mamelodi Sundowns this past weekend.

Pirates are eager to collect maximum points against the in-form Manqoba Mngqithi-coached team and keep their title ambitions alive. In the previous matches, Pirates have missed the services of key attacker Mofokeng, who has been sidelined due to an injury.

The highly-rated winger last featured for the Soweto giants in a 1-0 victory against Siwelele FC in the Carling Knockout Cup Round of 16 on the 4th of October at Orlando Pirates.

His injury saw him miss the last Bafana Bafana camp, where the team faced Zimbabwe and Rwanda to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Mofokeng has played 12 matches across all competitions under head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou, who has already guided Pirates to the 2025 MTN8 title.

Meanwhile, Selepe is yet to feature for the Sea Robbers in the 2025/26 season after gaining promotion to the senior team in the second round of the previous season.

The young central midfielder played the deep-lying role for Pirates after the injury to Makhehlene Makhaula and received a Bafana call-up in June for his impressive performances.

With Pirates preparing to face Arrows at King Zwelithini Stadium on Wednesday night, they have revealed that Mofokeng and Selepe are nearing a return to action.

“The Buccaneers will be determined to continue their solid run in the league where they have now clinched points in each of their last seven matches,” Pirates said in a statement.

“There could be a reshuffling of the pack in a match that kicks off a busy week, with the likes of Relebohile Mofokeng and Simphiwe Selepe nearing a return after missing out on a fair bit of the action this season.”
