Sekhukhune United missed an opportunity to go to the top of the Betway Premiership table after being held 1-1 by visiting Richards Bay FC at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane on Tuesday night.
After profiting from a Tshepo Mabua own goal in the 68th minute, Babina Noko then allowed the Natal Rich Boyz to hit back through Gabadinho Mhango eight minutes later. The wheels appear to be coming off for Sekhukhune, who recorded a third successive PSL match without victory, having started the season in top form.
The result saw them dropping to third spot with 21 points, one fewer than leaders Mamelodi Sundowns. Had they won, Eric Tinklerโs side would have gone a point clear at the top and wait for Sundownsโ hosting of TS Galaxy on Wednesday.ย
With Richards Bay picking up a point on the road, they climbed one place to position 11.ย
POLOKWANE WIN ON THE ROAD AGAINST USUTHU

At the Princess Magogo Stadium, AmaZulu FC suffered a 1-0 home loss to Polokwane City FC. Defender Bulelani Nikani settled matters with a headed goal 15 minutes into the match.
Usuthu goalkeeper after Darren Johnson had dropped the ball, which Nikani gratefully buried into the back of the net.
Collecting maximum points away from home, Rise and Shine leapt from position eight to five on the log. They overtook Arthur Zwaneโs AmaZulu, who are just below them in sixth spot.
AND IT GETS WORSE FOR CHIPPA
Meanwhile, Chippa United continued with their difficult run of form following a goalless draw with Magesi FC at Buffalo City Stadium.
It is not a bright start to Vusumuzi Vilakaziโs tenure as the Chilli Boys coach after he lost his first game against AmaZulu last weekend. Now, he saw his side struggle to score against equally struggling Magesi.
Chippa remain at the bottom of the table amid a five-match winless run in the PSL, while Dikwena Tsa Meetsi are 14th with three points more than the Gqeberha-based side.
