Cape Town Spurs have inked a long-term deal with the global sportswear brand Kappa, marking an exciting partnership aiming at keeping the club’s heritage alive.

The Urban Warriors have recently suffered a relegation setback from the Motsepe Foundation Championship to the ABC Motsepe League at the end of last season.

CT Spurs have been in relegation heartbreak for two seasons in a row after dropping from the Betway Premiership to the Championship at the end of the 2023/24 season.

The Cape Town-based side has a big task of fighting to regain promotion to the professional ranks. Spurs is one of the storied football clubs in South Africa with a proven track record of producing big players such as Steven Pienaar, Thulani Serero, and Moeneeb Josephs, among many others.

With Spurs eyeing promotion back to the NFD, they announced a partnership with Italian sports giant Kappa to provide the club with performance apparel. Spurs have joined the Soweto giants, Kaizer Chiefs, as one of the South African clubs that are in partnership with Kappa.

“The agreement sees Kappa become the official technical partner for the club, providing high-quality performance apparel for the clubโ€™s senior teams and critically, the newly launched Urban Warrior Schools.

“This collaboration marks a pivotal moment for both entities, uniting a club focused on forging the next generation of talent with a brand synonymous with football heritage. The partnership is designed to be a cornerstone of the clubโ€™s new strategic direction, providing a unified, professional look from the grassroots level all the way to the senior squad.”

Meanwhile, Spurs CEO Alexi Efstathiou has reflected on the partnership, revealing that it’s a powerful endorsement of the direction that the club is embarking on.

“This partnership with Kappa is a powerful endorsement of the new path Cape Town Spurs has embarked upon. Our brand is evolving, and our model is shifting to place a greater emphasis on sustainable development and forging meaningful, long-term partnerships with well-known, quality brands in South Africa.” Efstathiou said.
