Broos names Bafana final squad to face Zambia

Bafana Bafana mentor Hugo Broos has named his final squad for the international friendly game against their neighbors, Zambia, in South Africa later this month.

Broos had announced a 43-member preliminary squad for the international friendly on the 28th of October and has since trimmed it to his final 23-man squad.

The Bafana squad announcement took place at the SAFA House in Nasrec, Johannesburg, on Thursday, 6 November 2025.

Broos’ charges will lock horns with Chipolopolo at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Gqeberha. This showdown will take place on Saturday, 15 November 2025. The kick-off is set for 18:00.

This match is part of Bafana’s preparations for this yearโ€™s AFCON tournament, which is due to be staged in Morocco from 21 December 2025 to 18 January 2026.

South Africa is placed in Group B of the AFCON competition with Egypt, Zimbabwe, and Angola.

MAMELODI SUNDOWNS AND ORLANDO PIRATES PLAYERS CONTINUE TO DOMINATE BAFANA BAFANA SQUAD

The final squad consists of several Mamelodi Sundowns troops, with players such as Ronwen Williams, Khuliso Mudau, Aubrey Modiba, Teboho Mokoena, and Bathusi Aubaas.

Orlando Pirates boasts a strong presence with players like Masindi Nemtajela, Mbekezeli Mbokazi, Oswin Appollis, Sipho Mbule, Sipho Chaine, Tshepang Moremi, Evidence Makgopa, Nkosinathi Sibisi, and Thalente Mbatha.

Meanwhile, Kaizer Chiefs don’t have a representative in the Bafana squad this time around.

In addition, Keletso Makgalwa of Sekhukhune United finally got his first Bafana call-up, alongside Nemtajela of Pirates.
