Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Kgaogelo Sekgota has revealed how Itumeleng Khune and two other PSL stars lent him a helping hand during his time in rehab.
Sekgota, now with SAFA Limpopo ABC Motsepe League side Tubatse United, recently completed his four-month rehabilitation process at Hope of Achievers Rehabilitation Centre, outside Polokwane.
The 28-year-old is set to spend the 2025/26 season at the Limpopo club as he recently parted ways with Motsepe Foundation Championship side Upington City FC following the expiration of his contract at the club.
Sekgota has since revealed that Khune, Ricardo Goss and Jaisen Clifford reached out to him while he was undergoing rehabilitation.

“Khune was there for me. I also had support from Ricardo Goss. They were there to support me and also Jaisen Clifford,โ Sekgota told FARPost.

Sekgota added: โKhune never gave up on me. Those guys have been there for me since day one, and I would like to thank them and also wish them all the best in what they do.
“While I was in rehab, Khune would get me things that I needed. He would get me food. Whatever I needed, he was there to bring it along. He was like a father to me, and I really appreciate that.
“I also want to say thank you to the Mohlala family. Martin Mohlala is the chairman of the club [Tubatse United]. I would like to thank him for giving me hope and believing in me. He is the one who took me out of rehab. Yes, so I am very grateful to him.”
Sekgota and his teammates at Tubatse will be looking to gain promotion following the commencement of the Limpopo ABC Motsepe League this weekend.
