Former Bafana Bafana and Cape Town City FC midfielder Ayanda Patosi has signed for the ambitious SAFA Western Cape ABC Motsepe League side, Hope FC.
The 33-year-old has been without a club since January 2023, following his departure from Foolad FC in Iran.
Hope FC, which was previously known as Sea Point Swifts FC, are the new rookies in the ABC Motsepe League. They purchased the status of Oriented Birds FC just before the start of the 2025/26 campaign.
The club is led by coach Dylan Dean, who is assisted by former Mamelodi Sundowns defender Clayton Daniels.

The side expressed its delight at having roped in the veteran attacking midfielder and believes his experience will make a difference moving forward.
Hope FC is pitted in Stream A of the Western Cape ABC Motsepe League for the 2025/26 season, alongside two former PSL sides, Cape Town Spurs and CR Vasco da Gama. The lost also includes Inter City FC, FN Rangers, Hout Bay United FC, Hanover Park, Junction Rovers AFC, Santos FC, Ubuntu FC, Young Bafana, Seaside Spurs FC, and Zizwe United.

Patosi has already hit the ground running at his new club. He was part of the matchday squad for Hope FC on Saturday afternoon.
Hope FC suffered a 3-1 defeat to Hout Bay United in their first league game of the season. Hout Bay are guided by the ex-Orlando Pirates development side mentor and Sundowns set-piece coach, Michael Loftman. This showdown took place at Hout Bay Sports Complex in Cape Town.
“We are proud to welcome Ayanda Patosi to Hope FC. Our new number 10 made his debut today and begins his journey with us. Welcome, Ayanda,” said Hope FC in a statement on Saturday.
Overseas, Patosi played for clubs such as KSC Lokeren in Belgium, Esteghlal FC and Foolad FC from Iran, and FC Baniyas of the United Arab Emirates.
In South Africa, he represented teams like ASD Cape Town and Cape Town City FC. At national level, he has over 10 caps for Bafana with three goals to his name as per Transfermarkt.
