Betway Premiership side AmaZulu FC has bolstered its squad for the remainder of the 2025/26 campaign with the signing of attacking midfielder Langelihle Mhlongo.
Mhlongo forms part of the Usuthu family following his departure from rivals Richards Bay FC, where he spent four seasons.
He joins the Arthur Zwane-coached side on a free transfer, putting pen to paper on a permanent deal with the KZN club.
Before signing his first professional contract with the Natal Rich Boyz, Mhlongo had stints with amateur clubs like Magic Future Stars and Ethekwini Coastal, where his football skills were nurtured.

“AmaZulu Football Club is pleased to announce the signing of KwaMashu-born attacking midfielder Langelihle Mhlongo. He joins Usuthu on a permanent deal as a free agent,” reads the club’s statement.

“The 24-year-old arrives after spending four seasons with KwaZulu-Natal neighbours Richards Bay FC. Mhlongo was officially welcomed to the Usuthu family by Club President Sandile Zungu at the AmaZulu Fan Experience, where excitement filled the air. He will be donning jersey number 3 this season.
“Before his professional spell with the Natal Rich Boys, Mhlongo honed his talent with local amateur sides Magic Future Stars and Ethekwini Coastal.”
LANGELIHLE MHLONGO’S FIRST WORDS AS AMAZULU PLAYER
Mhlongo expressed his excitement about joining AmaZulu, disclosing that playing for Usuthu was a long-held childhood ambition.
“I feel happy and honoured to play for a club l grew up wanting to represent, AmaZulu. So, I kindly ask for the supporters’ backing.l am ready to give my all. I’m prepared to help the team achieve its objectives,” said Mhlongo.
“I look forward to playing alongside my new teammates and working with coach Arthur Zwane and his technical team. I would also like to thank my previous club for everything they did for me.”
