Mamelodi Sundowns, goalkeepers Andile Dlamini and Ronwen Williams, as well as Amajita star Tylon Smith, have made it to the final list of nominees for the 2025 CAF Awards.
The 2025 edition of the CAF Awards will be held in Rabat, Morocco, on Wednesday, 19 November 2025.
This ceremony honours African players and coaches whose performances for club and country have set them apart from their peers. These include the main category of the CAF African Player of the Year for both men and women.
Ademola Lookman of Nigeria is the current Men’s Player of the Year, while Barbra Banda of Zambia won the 2024 Women’s Player of the Year award.
WHO ARE THE SOUTH AFRICANS NOMINATED AT THE 2025 CAF AWARDS?
Bafana Bafana captain Ronwen Williams is among the three finalists for the Goalkeeper of the Year award. He is competing with Yassine Bonou of Morocco and Al Hilal, as well as Munir Mohamedi of Morocco and RS Berkane.
Sundowns ladies and Banyana Banyana goalkeeper Dlamini will compete with Khadija Er-Rmichi of Morocco and Chiamaka Nnadozie of Nigeria.
Queens Park Rangers defender Tylon Smith is among the final list for the Young Player of the Year, alongside the Moroccan duo of Abdellah Ouazane and Othmane Maamma.
CAF Champions League finalists Masandawana have been nominated in the Team of the Year category alongside Pyramids FC of Egypt and RS Berkane from Morocco.
