Ex-Mamelodi Sundowns and Cape Town City FC midfielder Surprise Ralani have secured a coaching gig at SAFA Northern Cape ABC Motsepe League side, Gaza United FC.
Ralani has been appointed as Gaza’s new head coach for the 2025/26 ABC Motsepe League campaign. This latest development was confirmed by the amateur side on Thursday night.
The 38-year-old joins Gaza following his departure from Motsepe Foundation Championship club Hungry Lions. He had joined Lions last season after cutting ties with Cape Town Spurs FC.
Gaza are in Stream B of the Northern Cape Motsepe League with clubs such as Blues FC Development, Destiny United, G Stastie FC, Jacksa Spears FC, Saints FC, Mighty Reds FC, Mighty Moovers, Ocean Swallows, SPU FC, Pearls United, and United Rovers.
Ralani takes charge at Gaza with extensive experience, having spent eight seasons in Europe playing for clubs such as Helsingborgs IF, IFK Hรคssleholm, Landskrona BoIS, and Lyngby BK.

In SA, he also played for the Stars of Africa Academy, where he developed his football. This academy is run by former Kaizer Chiefs assistant coach Farouk Khan.
Meanwhile, six days ago, the talented left winger Ralani was spotted playing for Kimberley Saints FC in the Northern Cape ABC Motsepe League in Kimberley after leaving Hungry Lions.
GAZA UNITED’S NEXT LEAGUE ASSIGNMENT
The Ralani-coached side will be in action on Sunday, 23 November, against G Stastie FC away from home. This showdown will start at 15:00.
“Gaza family, let’s welcome a new coach on board, Surprise Ralani. New era begins. Welcome, coach,” said the club in a statement.
Ralani, the father of Amajimbos star Emile Witbooi, is expected to assist Gaza in contending for the league title and securing a spot in the SAFA ABC Motsepe League National Playoffs, to achieve promotion to the Motsepe Foundation Championship.
