Nyatama holds CT City to stalemate, Baroka remain in relegation

Musa Nyatama's Upington City FC against Cape Town City FC

Musa Nyatama’s Upington City FC held Cape Town City FC to a goalless draw in the Motsepe Foundation Championship, while Baroka FC continues its fight to survive relegation.

Upington shared one point apiece with the Citizens at Athlone Stadium on Saturday afternoon as the National First Division season is starting to take shape. CT City have had a challenging start to life in the Motsepe Foundation after being relegated from the Betway Premiership last season.

So far, City has registered only three wins, four draws, and suffered defeats four times in 11 matches played in the league. The Cape Town-based side is currently sitting 11th on the table with 13 points, and they will be looking to improve their form in the coming weeks to keep their promotion chase alive.

Bakgakga are rooted at the basement of the table in the second division with eight points in 12 matches played. They only managed two wins, two draws, and lost eight times.
