Orlando Pirates have provided a crucial injury update on three first-team stars, Sihle Nduli, Olisa Ndah, and Makhehlene Makhaula, ahead of their Betway Premiership tie on Tuesday.

The Soweto giants are returning to action after spending over two weeks without competitive action due to the FIFA international break. Over the past weekend, Pirates sat out of action as they had been eliminated from the CAF Champions League. Meanwhile, the Sea Robbers had their Betway Premiership clash against Chippa Unitedย moved from the weekend to the 25th of November.

Pirates will welcome Chippa at Orlando Stadium, gunning for maximum points to keep the league title race alive and close the gap on log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns. The Buccaneers have collected 22 points in 10 matches played thus far, while Sundowns are on 25 points after 12 games.

Before the international break, Pirates were on a rich vein of form, which also saw them book a place in the Carling Knockout Cup final. They will face Marumo Gallants in the final at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium on the 6th of December.

With Pirates involved in the only league fixture on Tuesday night, they issued an update, revealing that Ndah, Nduli, and Makhaula are close to returning to full fitness from their respective injuries.

Nduli picked up a knock against Golden Arrows in the league a few weeks ago, while Ndah and Makhaula are yet to feature in the current campaign since getting injured in the previous season.

“With a proud record to uphold, Pirates now have a struggling Chippa in their sights as they look to initiate a strong finish to the year,” Pirates said on their website.

“They could soon be boosted by the return of midfielder Sihle Nduli, who missed the Carling Knockout clash against Richards Bay, while Olisa Ndah and Makhehleni Makhaula both inch closer to featuring for the first time this season.”
