PSL side show coach the exit door

Outgoing The Bees head coach Humphrey Mlwane

Motsepe Foundation Championship side The Bees FC have succumbed to a decision to part ways with their head coach, Humphrey Mlwane, just 12 games into the 2025/26 season.

The two parties have cut ties by mutual agreement following inconsistent results in the SA second tier.

Mlwane played a key role in helping The Bees win the Mpumalanga ABC Motsepe League last term, qualifying for the SAFA ABC Motsepe League National Playoffs, and went on to secure PSL status for the club.

The Bees are in their first campaign in the Motsepe Foundation Championship, having secured promotion to the league after finishing as the second-best team at the national playoffs held in Gauteng in July this year.

However, the Mpumalanga-based outfit has started their journey in the Motsepe Foundation Championship slowly, as they are currently placed 13th in the table with 12 points after 12 matches.

THE BEES’ OFFICIAL STATEMENT ON THE DEPARTURE OF HEAD COACH HUMPHREY MLWANE

The Bees officially confirmed the sacking of coach Mlwane on Monday, 24 November 2025. This comes after their 1-0 defeat to AmaTuks over the weekend.

Meanwhile, Velile Zitha and Marvin Ngomane will take over the coaching reins at The Bees on an interim basis, as the club is in the process of appointing a new head coach.

“It is with a heavy heart that we announce the mutual departure of our head coach, Mr. Humphrey Mlwane, who has been an integral part of our team since the ABC Motsepe League days,” said the club in a statement.

“We sincerely appreciate his dedication, leadership, and the significant contribution he has made to the growth and development of the club. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to coach Mlwane for his commitment throughout his tenure and wish him nothing but success in his future endeavours.

“In the meantime, his assistant coaches, Mr. Velile Zitha and Mr. Marvin Ngomane, will assume the roles of Caretaker Coaches while the club begins the process of appointing a new head coach.”
