Kaizer Chiefs co-coach Cedric Kaze feels that having four players in the Bafana Bafana AFCON preliminary squad is an indication of improvement at the club.
Broos has named a 55-man list for the Tournament that kicks off on 21 December in Morocco. He is expected to trim the list in a few days from now.
On the list of 55 players, Broos has named four players from Chiefs. This includes goalkeeper Brandon Peterson, defenders Thabiso Monyane and Bradley Cross as well as midfielder Mduduzi Shabalala.
WHY RECENT BAFANA BAFANA CALL-UPS ARE A REWARD FOR KAIZER CHIEFS’ HARD WORK
Speaking ahead of Chiefs’ CAF Confederation Cup tie against Zamalek SC in Polokwane on Saturday, Kaze highlighted the hard work in the past few months as a reward for the call-ups.
“It’s a reward for all the efforts that everyone has been putting in,” Kaze told Journalists.

“Maybe six months, eight months ago or one year ago, we didn’t have any players in Bafana. Now we have four, even if it is still a preliminary squad. It shows the improvement that the team has made.
“The players now also understand the importance of that. We just hope that everyone will be consistent. If the team is consistent, if the team keeps going in the right direction, we will have even more than that.”
CEDRIC KAZE CALLS ON AMAKHOSI SUPPORTERS TO FILL UP PETER MOKABA STADIUM
Meanwhile, Chiefs will take on Zamalek in what is expected to be a full house at the Peter Mokaba Stadium. Kaze has urged the Amakhosi faithful to come out in numbers and rally behind the team.
“Thatโs why we are here, because of our fans. The pride that they have for the team to be here. We are going to do everything tomorrow possible to make them happy. To make them proud of supporting Amakhosi. We hope that they will be the 12th man tomorrow driving us to get those three points. I hope the people of Polokwane and residents around will come in numbers to support the team.”
