Kaizer Chiefs co-coach Cedric Kaze gave his assessment of Lebohang Maboe’s performance after the attacker made his first start for the club in the CAF Confederation Cup clash on Saturday.
Amakhosi were held to a 1-1 draw by Egyptian giants Zamalek in a CAF Confederation Cup Group D match at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane.
In fact, Chiefs snatched a point from the jaws of defeat when Dillan Solomons scored a crucial equaliser deep into added time. Despite the dramatic recovery, the draw keeps the Soweto giants anchored in third place in the group standings, having secured only one point from their opening two matches.
On the day in Polokwane, coach Kaze and his technical team gave the former Mamelodi Sundowns star, Maboe, his debut start in Chiefs colours.
Before the match, the 31-year-old had only managed two substitute appearances in the Betway Premiership and another in the CAF Confederation Cup.

โI feel he had a very good game. He’s a player who also drives the other players. You need a player that can level up the technical quality of the team.”
